W2CB #36: Winter Is the Time for Comfort

Hi, everyone! Happy Day After!

Sybrina here with a quick reminder that our Winter Is the Time for Comfort Challenge is still accepting entries (cards and/or projects) and will be open through January 4.

This month's words are brought to us by Edith Sitwell.

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:
it is the time for home.

You can scroll down or click here to see the original post.  And, remember there are two ways to win a Simon Says Stamp gift certificate!

  • Our challenge winner will receive $10 to Simon Says Stamp.
  • One randomly selected follower will win $10 to Simon Says. Not yet a W2CB follower? Sounds like a perfect time to join.   :)

Here's an oldie-but-goodie of mine from December 2015 for a little inspiration.

Hope to see you in the W2CB Gallery. We'd love to see what you make using a few of those crafting goodies Santa left behind.  :)

W2CB #36: Winter is the Time for Comfort

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:
it is the time for home.
                                                                                                               Edith Sitwell

We couldn't have captured the spirit of this wondrous season any better ourselves. So, as we engage in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we took a little time to use these words for some crafting inspiration.

Annie was reminded of the warmth of a homemade quilt, Bobbi of a wintry neighborhood street, Marty of a vintage holiday scene, and Penny of a decked-out snowkid. As for me, I made a first-Christmas ornament for a new neighbor.

Here's how the W2CB gals interpreted these heartfelt words.  :)

So, maybe this month's words will bring to mind a favorite holiday dish, the unexpected kindness of a stranger, or some stockings hung by the fireplace. We'd love to see how this quote speaks to you.

As always, our challenge winner will be invited to join us a Guest I-Teamer for a future challenge. And, just like last month, our challenge winner and one lucky follower will receive $10 gift certificates to Simon Says Stamp.

Ready... set... craft!

W2CB #35: Small Hearts, Big Gratitude

Happy December everyone!

Now, can anyone tell me what happened to the other eleven months of 2016?

Turns out we miscalculated our November/December Challenge closing date. So, you still have a week to link up gratitude cards/projects. Hooray!

  • Maybe you're making a few festive holiday thank yous... for teachers, hair dressers, mail carriers... Well, you get the idea.
  • You can share these cards/projects with us here at W2CB for a chance to win a Simon Says gift certificate and a Guest I-Teamer spot.
  • We'll also be randomly selecting a W2CB follower to win an SSS gift certificate. If you're not yet a follower, here's a perfect time to join.
  • Click here or scroll down a little to find the original post.  :)

We'll be back on December 14 with a new challenge.

Until then, see you in the November/December Gallery! Happy craftin'!
