My Heart's Devotion Gift Certificate Winners

My Heart's Devotion Mid-Challenge Post

Hi, everyone! Sybrina here with a mid-challenge post. Thanks to everyone who has already linked up a card/project. It's wonderful to see so many great entries. And, welcome to our newest followers: Asha, Carol, Marsha, Donna, and Carrie.


Our words for this month come from American author and humorist Mark Twain.

I can promise all my heart's devotion; 

A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;

A love that's true and ever growing;

A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.

 

And, here's a card that was inspired by the third line of this Twain quote. I wanted to make a vintage-feel card that could be used to send a special message for a romantic occasion or a thank you to a dear friend.

 

 

 

 

The current challenge is open until March 2nd. While making cards is the first love of our designers, we are equal-opportunity crafters. Any type of project inspired by this month's words are welcome.

 

Like last month, we will be randomly awarding gift certificates to one challenge participant and one blog follower. In addition, one entry will be chosen as our challenge winner. The winning crafter will receive our winner's badge and an invitation to join us as a Guest I-Teamer for a future challenge.  :)

My Heart's Devotion

Bobbi here with our February Words 2 Craft By challenge. This month's words come to us from beloved American author and humorist Mark Twain.

I can promise all my heart's devotion; 

A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;

A love that's true and ever growing;

A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.

This quote reminded me of good friends -- those special people who make my life even more worthwhile. This month's words were a perfect inspiration to make a special card for one of these special people.  

Other members of our Inspiration Team came away with a more romantic interpretation of Twain's quote. Let's take a look at what our I-Teamers, including Guest I-Teamer Jen, created for this month's W2CB Challenge.

New Beginnings Part 2!

Just a quick reminder that you can join the Words 2 CRAFT by New Beginnings challenge through February 3.

I like my first Hello Baby card so much, I recreated it in blue!

Instead of bling, I fussy cut the stars from the stamp.

More Beginnings than Endings

Hello, Crafty Friends! Sybrina here welcoming you to the first Words 2 Craft By Wednesday of 2016. Before we get to our inaugural W2CB Challenge, I want to give a huge shout-out to my partner-in-craft Bobbi and her good friend Peggy for their help with all things techie these last few months.  :)

We are thrilled to welcome Jan as our January Guest I-Teamer. Don't you just love how Jan made the quote her focal point with her fab word strips.... and how her travel-themed embellishments draw your eyes right to her sentiment?! Thanks so much for joining us, Jan!

Talk about great minds! (I really need to remember to use this sentiment treatment more often.) Annie said this month's quote reminded her of butterflies flitting out of their cocoons. So, she placed a few pretty butterflies amidst a swirly, frilly background.

Oh my gosh, I'm going to have to case this card ASAP for a dear friend's new grandson! I just love Bobbi's delightful layout, and those bits of bling make an adorable elephant even sweeter.  :)

My project might look a little familiar to those of you who saw my craft show wares. I made a few desktop calendars that featured our January words. (Yes, I do occasionally make non-card items.) And, as our new blog name indicates, all projects crafty are welcome here.  :)

Welcome to W2CB!

Hello and Happy New Year!

If you've come looking for a word-inspired crafting challenge, you've come to the right place... but you've actually come just a tad early.
.

Yep, we're changing things up a little bit here at Words 2 Scrap By, including changing our name to Words 2 Craft By. We thought the name change would reflect our desire to embrace all types of craftiness.  :)

Other changes include the following:

• Challenges will go live the second Wednesday of the month. Our first Words 2 Craft By Wednesday is January 13.
• Challenges will run until the end of each month, ending at 11:59 PM EST.
• As in the past, we will select one entry as the challenge winner. (The winning crafter will receive a winner's badge and be invited to join us as a Guest I-Teamer for an upcoming challenge.) However, we also will randomly select one crafter to receive a gift certificate to one of our favorite online retailers.

Rest assured, one very important aspect will not change. We will continue to use words as the inspiration for crafty fun.

We look forward to sharing our first challenge of this new year on January 13. Hope to see you then.  :)
